The Lisbon Local with a Love for Social Rides

Cycling has always been social for me, a way to spend time outside, meet people, and explore new places. In Lisbon, the riding’s incredible, but finding the right crew isn’t always easy. I joined LC__CC mainly for the kit at first, but I stayed because of the community. From meeting local riders to connecting through the club rides and chats, I’ve found people who ride the way I do. It’s not about racing or numbers, it’s about the shared love for the ride and the stories you swap over a post-ride coffee.

The Expat Rider Reconnecting

I moved from the UK to Australia a couple of years ago and, like a lot of people, found myself starting from scratch, new roads, new routines, no familiar wheels to follow. Riding had always been my constant, but it started to feel a bit aimless without a community around me. Joining LC__CC changed that. Suddenly, I had structure again through the training plans, but also something more meaningful: connection. Seeing other members’ rides, taking part in challenges, and even just repping the kit made me feel part of something, even from the other side of the world.

The Solo Rider Turned Student

I’ve always been more of a lone wolf on the bike, no club rides, no race numbers, just me and the road. But I hit a point where I wanted to get stronger and ride with more purpose. That’s when I found LC__CC. I didn’t expect to gain so much. The training plans gave my rides structure, the coaching tips helped me finally crack that climb I’d been struggling with for months. And as strange as it sounds, I’ve never felt more connected to other cyclists. Even on solo rides, I feel like I’m part of something bigger.

The Cross-Club Convert

I ride with a local club every Sunday, and I love the camaraderie and routine of it. But LC__CC gives me something different, something more. It’s the extras: the challenges that push me through winter, the points that build towards kit rewards, the pro insights that filter into my training. I didn’t think a digital club could feel this real, but it’s become the thing that keeps me sharp and constantly looking ahead. It's a second club, but honestly, it feels like the main one now.

The Late Bloomer

I didn’t start riding seriously until my late 40s. I was nervous about getting into it, all the gear, the pace, the jargon. But joining LC__CC changed that. There’s no judgment, no pressure. Just support, smart advice, and a constant flow of motivation. I joined for the kit discounts, but stayed because I finally felt like I belonged in this world. Being part of this community made me realise: it’s never too late to feel like a real cyclist.
